This is a photo I did for the new magazine, Garden & Gun. It's a magazine all about the South's unique culture and quirks. It's distributed nationally, pick it up!

This is 'Bear', the Boykin, in his 'pup tent'. They Boykin of course is a very Southern dog, you see a lot of them here in Charleston. They're hunting & bird dogs.

I got an email a week or two ago from a guy who was planning to propose to his girlfriend during the week of the 4th on Sullivans Island... and could I photograph it without her knowing as a surprise to her?! Well, YES!...there's nothing more fun than being hired to be a voyeur.

I made Geoff come with me so that I could pretent to photograph him doing silly yoga poses on the beach when I was actually photographing over his shoulder.

Blake's new fiance of course said yes to his proposal. Congratulations!

I love these old Southern churches that are painted white and have a bit of a front porch. They are excellent for taking shots of the wedding party. It reminds me of photos of my grandparents as kids, all lined up against their old wooden house for a family photo.

We've got two big weddings this weekend to photograph, one here in Charleston and the other on Daufuskie Island. I rarely book two weddings in a weekend, but both of these are too fun and exciting to pass up.

And we get to stay on Daufuskie Island Sunday night and chill out on Monday by driving golf carts around the island and taking artsy photos.

Fun fun!

Laura & Mike are quite a creative duo and I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding over Easter weekend at Boone Hall Plantation.

Laura is a modern day Renaissance gal who makes lamp shades, furniture and lights, and even use to design clothing as well. She of course custom designed all the lighting for their reception. Check out her work.

Mike is in a band called Baleen and they played a special segment during the reception and had the entire place dancing to their music.

I'm finally getting a chance to go through some wedding photos from earlier this Spring that I've shot, and making some nice fine art ptints out of them.

It can be a daunting task to sift through hundreds photos from a wedding and pick out the really magical ones. Like life, sometimes we get overwhelmed with all that's going on and it's hard to slow down and notice the finer moments.

I'm always curious to see which photos of mine other people are drawn to. And now that I have had the experience of being the bride myself, I find that I am drawn to photograph some things differently, based on what I wanted as a bride.

This is one that I noticed when I was going through the 800 or so photos from the day. But it wasn't until I singled it out and spent a little time adjusting the curves and contrast that it really became quite striking to me.
